It’s been about a year since I last posted. I had been going through a lot in my life and needed a break to focus on so many other things. Blogging and writing in general are a hobby for me and when hobbies stop being fun, you should stop doing them. So I did!
But I am in a really good place right now and I’ve been missing this particular hobby, so I’m back!
So what’s new? Honestly, everything!
I’m still in Denver, although traveling so much that often times I’m hard to track down. I’m still working in tech, but my priorities have changed when it comes to business. I’m still dating, building a wonderful friend circle but again, my priorities have changed so much.
Life has become solely about maximizing joy, carefully curating the energy around me and becoming better each day.
For me, the recipe to being my sparkliest self is about three major things:
Therapy + doing the work: I have worked really hard to find a therapist and a way of doing therapy that I have stuck with for a good 2 years now. I’m actively doing the hard work rather than just showing up and hoping for the best. And I’m practicing the things I’m being taught. Therapy has been really hard. And I still have so much to uncover and work through. But it’s the best way to grow and heal.
Carefully Curating my circle: My energy is sacred. And having people around me that drain that energy are not welcome. I have made my circle smaller, more intentional and something I can adjust as needed. Community is everything. Having people I trust, enjoy being with and who challenge me but also leave me feeling good are my focus. Anyone who doesn’t fit that has to go. No excuses.
Grattiude: I lead with gratitude in everything that I do. About 4 years ago I committed to starting and ending my day with moments of gratitude and writing those things down. It’s changed who I am entirely. I am more empathetic, kind and better able to handle the hard things because of this mental space.
Another bonus, health. I think all of these things lead to making me a healthier happier me, but I also actively prioritize my health. I set boundaries, I put good things in my body, I move daily, I surround myself with good people — all of that is helping to create a life that makes me feel just HEALTHY.
I’ve got my sparkle back and I’ve got a lot to say, hope you’ll stay for the journey.
